Guest Invitation to Poland
A guest invitation to Poland is an official document that allows a foreign national to obtain a Schengen visa (Category C) for a private visit.
The invitation is issued by a private individual — either a Polish citizen or a foreign resident legally living in Poland (holder of a karta pobytu residence card).
This format is suitable for visiting relatives, friends, acquaintances, or for short private trips without any work-related purpose.
What the guest invitation includes
- Details of the host (name, address, PESEL or residence card number).
- Details of the invited person (name, date of birth, nationality, passport number).
- Purpose and duration of the visit.
- Address of stay in Poland.
- Information on who covers expenses (travel, accommodation, food).
- Signature of the host and official certification at the Voivodeship Office (Urząd Wojewódzki).
- The invitation is processed through the Voivodeship Office based on the host’s registered address.
Who can issue an invitation
An invitation may be issued by:
- a Polish citizen registered at their place of residence;
- a foreign resident holding a valid karta pobytu;
- a legal entity registered in Poland (in specific cases).
Processing time and validity
- Processing time — 7–14 working days.
- Validity — up to 90 days of stay in Poland.
- The consular visa fee is paid separately when submitting documents to the visa center.
Documents required for a visa based on an invitation
- Original invitation registered at the Voivodeship Office.
- Passport valid at least 3 months beyond the planned departure date.
- One photo 3.5×4.5 cm.
- Medical insurance covering at least €30,000 for the entire trip.
- Visa application form for a Schengen visa (type C).
- Proof of financial means (bank statement or guarantee letter from the host).
