Visitor Visa to Canada

Visitor Visa to Canada

If you are planning to travel to Canada to visit friends or relatives, you will need a visitor visa, also known as a Temporary Resident Visa (TRV).

Required Documents for a Canadian Visitor Visa

Processing Time for a Canadian Visitor Visa

The processing time for a Visitor Visa / Temporary Resident Visa application depends on:

  • the country from which the application is submitted;
  • the current workload of IRCC;
  • the accuracy and completeness of the submitted documents.

The estimated processing time for Ukrainian citizens applying online from outside Canada is approximately 30–50 calendar days, excluding the time required for biometrics collection and passport delivery.

The current processing time can be checked on the official IRCC website (Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada) by selecting:

  • Application type: Visitor visa (from outside Canada)
  • Country of application: Ukraine

Please note that processing times may be affected by:

  • periods of high demand, such as summer months and holidays;
  • possible requests for additional documents.

It is recommended to submit the application in advance — at least 2–3 months before the planned trip — to reduce the risk of delays.
