Work visa to Poland for a year

A Polish national visa (Type D) allows you to work legally in Poland and reside in the country for up to one year. It is intended for foreign nationals planning employment in Poland and typically requires a prior invitation from a Polish employer.

Documents required to obtain a Polish work visa

  • Visa application form. Complete it online via e-Konsulat, then print and sign.
  • Photograph. Color, 35×45 mm, white background, full face, no headwear; taken within the last six months.
  • Passport. Original plus a scan/photo of all pages (pp. 1–31) laid out flat. The passport must be valid for at least three months beyond the visa’s expiry date and contain at least two blank pages.
  • Job invitation. We will send it to your e-mail as a PDF with an electronic signature; you only need to print it. The invitation must be valid at the time of filing with the consulate or visa center.
  • Copy of the employment contract (optional). Not always required, but confirms the employer’s intent—especially useful when applying on the basis of a voivodeship invitation.
  • Medical insurance. Minimum coverage of €30,000, valid throughout the Schengen Area. The insurer must be recognized by the Consulate of the Republic of Poland.
  • Visa fee receipt. The fee depends on the country of submission; approximately €60.
