Checks before you apply

Different arrangements apply to people with free labour market access or a separate work permit. A genuine employment agreement and an eligible vacancy number matter in the standard route. Check consular jurisdiction, quotas and eligibility to apply inside Czechia before booking.

Preparing your document file

Use this list for an initial review. Submission requires the current checklist from the relevant consulate or authority, taking account of nationality and country of residence.

  • Compare passport details and check your eligibility to apply in the chosen country.
  • Check the current form and requirements for photographs, translations and the submission method.
  • Employment agreement or an accepted preliminary contract; vacancy number where required.
  • Accommodation and relevant qualification evidence; criminal record documents under the official checklist.
  • For special arrangements, proof of free labour market access or a separate work permit.

Getting started with EUROWIZA

  1. Tell EUROWIZA your destination, purpose, nationality, country of lawful residence and intended dates.
  2. Clarify the available assistance and document list; agree on the service scope and price before paying.
  3. Compare the completed file with the official instructions. Keep appointment, payment and submission confirmations.

Planning time and costs

First check available appointments and the authority’s published processing times. Allow time to collect documents, obtain translations and address further requests. Confirm EUROWIZA service charges separately from government fees, insurance and other expenses. The competent authority decides the application; preparing documents does not guarantee issuance by a particular date.

Questions and answers

How long does an Employee Card application take?

The official processing period is usually 60 days, or 90 in complex cases. Suspended proceedings and appointment waits can make the overall process longer.

Can I start work immediately after applying?

Applying alone does not create that right. The standard procedure requires approval and written confirmation from the Ministry of the Interior; other arrangements have separate conditions.
