Poland visa based on a voivode’s work permit

If your employer has obtained a voivodeship work permit, check how it supports a D visa application. A multi-year permit does not create a “36-month visa”.

Checks before you apply

Even when a work permit covers several years, a D visa is valid for no more than one year. The permit supports employment; the immigration document supports lawful stay. Check the employer, position and conditions, as changing jobs may require a new permit or another procedure.

Preparing your document file

Use this list for an initial review. Submission requires the current checklist from the relevant consulate or authority, taking account of nationality and country of residence.

Check the current form and requirements for photographs, translations and the submission method.
Work permit identifying the employer, job and validity period.

Does Poland issue a 36-month visa?

A national D visa is issued for a maximum of one year. A period of several years may relate to a different document, such as a work permit, but not the visa itself.
